Lauren started Polo and the classic polo shirt back in 1976 for about $50,000. Today, his company transcends wealth by the massive popularity of his preppy clothes, the outfitting of the Polo brand on Olympic athletes (later this year at 2012 London Olympics), stock shares of Polo, and many more.
