 So many thousands and thousands of blogs and websites are posting about the exact same thing about the "Best Dressed" and the "Worst Dressed" at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards. We all know that the awards aren't just watched to see who wins for their on-screen performance but the RED CARPET PERFORMANCE. Here, you have the exclusive opportunity to be with me and my thoughts as a no-nonsense kind of person as opposed to PRESS RELEASE-TYPE NEWS OF CELEBS. Bottom line: All the women featured were just beautiful and like a rare rose. The kind of fashion that never goes wrong is one that remains simple, timeless, and understated. Beautiful dresses of that nature allows a woman to show her natural beauty instead of just a beautiful dress on a woman.

RECAP: Happy BDay To The Late AALIYAH!!

Good morning, this Martin Luther King weekend, Aaliyah would have been 32 years old. Wow... she passed away 10 YEARS AGO?? Her sweet soul mixed with her sometimes tomboy actions made her all the rave back in the day.

People most cling to Aaliyah through her movie, "Romeo Must Die," which usually gets high ratings because it's always fantastic to see someone no longer living to come alive on the big screen, ya' feel me? Man... sometimes it comes to my mind what could have been if Aaliyah was alive today. I feel that there would be TREMENDOUS competition between her and Beyonce. At the rate that Aaliyah was going back in the day, she would today be in Beyonce's place or even SURPASS it. Maaaan....

Rest in peace and enjoy Heaven, Aaliyah!

KID ROCK Celebrates 40th B-Day In Detroit In Star-Studded Event

The 'Kid Rock Party' apparently was a banger as about 60,000 fans packed the house at FORD FIELD anticipating the biggest house party of 2011. Classic Detroit favorites and Detroit-lovers also packed the house: the legendary Anita Baker, "Run's House" and Run DMC's Joseph "Rev. Run" Simmons, Sheryl Crow, Martina McBride, Uncle Kracker, and more surprises laid out for the night.

Kid Rock also sang a bunch of his hit songs with his special guests, singing songs like "Rock Box" and "Born This Way." Anita Baker made the night enchanted with a SOUL-ified version of "Star Spangled Banner." Also included in the fun-filled night were video tributes from Late-Night-TV talking heads Jay Leno, Conan O' Brien, Jimmy Kimmel, Jon Stewart, and even the animated Beavis & Butthead. 

The night ended on a great note. Even though it was Kid Rock's birthday, you would thimk it would be all about him. NOPE. Rock donated $25,000 each to four Detroit organizations that serve the community (man, that just touches my heart!) and in turn, Detroit City Council president Charles Pugh presented Rock with the 'Spirit of Detroit' award and Chevrolet presented him with a thugged-out *LoL* --ahem-- customized 2011 Camaro.

I'm sure that's a 40th BIRTHDAY TO REMEMBER...

OMG!! LIL' KIM Doesn't Look Like Lil' Kim Anymore!!!!

*SIGH* What is.... What... LIL' KIM... why??? She just ain't been the same ever since Nicki Minaj came out. We all know that Kim was a lil' outlandish and very vulgar at times, but this one just doesn't make any sense. She was spotted at Quo Nightclub singing some song (I don't know, I'm just here to talk about this DRAG QUEEN thing she got going on).

Also, I ALMOST THOUGHT she was wearing a mask. That... ladies and gentlemen... is Lil' Kim's real face! The skin bleaching, the plastic surgery, ugh... natural beauty is really KEY... and reserved for the not-so-attractive.

RIHANNA Spotted Out Lookin' Red-Hott While Her 'LOUD' Album Is #1 Worldwide for 3 Wks. Straight!

By now, those of you who are revisiting probably know that RIHANNA is my guilty pleasure :-) . Well, I'm doing a fly-by on her right now. She was spotted out in L.A. with friends with the normal crowd of paparazzi and whatnot. Wearing the nude Louboutin heels again, I see; they look great, her body is great--er (since she got a little thicker in the hips and legs, I LOOOVE it), and the hair is looking sensual--- Did I not tell you she was my guilty pleasure?

Anyway, while Rih was having fun, her 'LOUD' album, which was released on Nov. 16, 2010, had just passed the 2.5 MILLION sale mark worldwide,making her album #1, THREE WEEKS IN A ROW. Niiiice!! (according to RihannaDaily)

HALLE BERRY Confirmed To Play ARETHA FRANKLIN In Biopic

Aretha Franklin's wish has been granted: Halle Berry, after all, will play the "R-E-S-P-E-C-T" songstress in a near-future biopic. In recent months, this thing was not developed yet and was deemed 'laughable" since people were joking about Franklin's current size and Halle Berry's curves and talking about "how could this be?" Remember that Ms. Franklin wasn't always the size she is now (she has since lost weight since surgery and better care of herself).

Ms. Franklin announced the news on The Wendy Williams Show on Thursday saying that in the past, there were numerous offers made that were not good, but the correct financing was put together and it finally came to fruition.

I believe this should be a good film, and thank God that Aretha is much better since having surgery for her past illness; my prayers are definitely with her. GET STRONGER 'QUEEN OF SOUL!!'

The PLAINEST-LOOKING Jordans I've Ever Seen...

Michael Jordan has a huge following on his JORDAN BRAND/Jumpman sneakers, releasing new sneakers every year. They are full of style with swoops, curves, zig-zags, velcros, smooth-to-the-touch, yada-yada.

But then I come to this. These shoes are called "6-17-23" and is supposed to be a hybrid sneaker reminiscent of designs from the JORDAN VI and XVII (btw '6-17-23' means Jordan's titles, years in the NBA, and number). 

I don't know if you like these... but I'm not really feeling these sneakers; however I like the other ones that were recently released (I will update you with a link). I do know that the price of Jordans, especially this model, will be pretty lofty, so I expect more style and emphasis to be added to it.

The bottom of the sneaker isn't bad; However, I would've like to see this design displayed right-side up on the shoes instead of hidden on the bottom.

I APPROVE: 3.1 Phillip Lim Shoes (Wear Your Own Unique Swagger)

I like shoes that bring a unique swagger. These shoes by 3.1 Phillip Lim are definitely unique and slightly odd, but not too odd to the point where they look hideous; you can still rock 'em with a good pair of jeans. See which ones I like:

Yeah I like these baby-blue Espadrilles!! It takes skill to know how to work 'em. Suggestion: Wear with dark denim jeans and baby-blue cashmere sweater or sweater vest and
contrasting polo shirt.

What I DON'T like:

These sneakers-- you know 3.1 Phillip Lim isn't cheap; I could find shoes like these
for a deep fraction of the cost.

Is USHER Alright? He has seemed a little 'off' recently...

I just thought I'd chime in on what people were talking about for a minute -- USHER. Now, of course Usher is always the subject of some woman's conversation somewhere in the world at any point of time, but this one wasn't about anything good. Check out Usher's recent performance at a concert in Berlin. He wasn't entirely into his own performance:

Close circles to Usher and fans have noticed that during his recent live performances, he has been lackluster in appearance, noticeably thinner, and sultry voice a little more on the tepid side. Of course it's great to lose weight, but it becomes a bit of a problem when a person that loses weight is ALREADY slim and in shape. I don't know what's going on, but I do hope for the best.
