Lookback: August Alsina Rocked Dope ROPER White/Plaid Shirt At 2014 BET Awards

Gotta love the creativity presented, and kudos to designer Roper, who designed this plaid shirt with dip detailing for 2014 BET Awards. It retails for $275.

It's a pretty cool design that goes with the overall look that August had, from plaid sneakers, pants, and what I call 'semi-dreads'. Represents a crisp, clean but not-too-serious style that still makes an impact.

Yup...

Terrence J and Rocsi, Hosts of Popular BET Show 106 & Park, Announce their Departure

I've enjoyed watching Terrence and Rocsi host the popular countdown show 106 & Park. Their work transcend beyond their platform as they continue to uplift and support the young black community. On the fashion side of things, sometimes I would just turn on the show just to see what they were wearing! they are truly some of the best dressers I've seen. God bless them in their endeavors.

We’ve had the opportunity to connect with BET hosts Rocsi and Terrence through our television screens over the last seven years and now they have officially confirmed that they will be moving on from ’106 and Park’ through an announcement that was televised during yesterday’s show. It an emotional five minute speech, Terrence and Rocsi not only announced that they would be leaving the show, but also detailed the moment they first received the call from BET’s Stephen Hill with the news that they would be the new hosts of the show. At the time Terrence had just lost his job in corporate america and Rocsi was a struggling radio hosts. It’s stories and moments such as these that gave Terrence and Rocsi an undeniable bond with their audience. From Rocsi sharing her personal struggles with an eating disorder with young girls and helping to rebuild schools in New Orleans after the Katrina disaster to Terrence spending days in Haiti after the earthquake feeding families and organizing a road trip across the country to get 100,000 students registered to vote, those little personal touches and the ability to inspire and keep their audience informed beyond the 106 and Park stage was what made them special.
It’s no denying the energy that they’ve brought to that stage every single day, coupled with their ability to not only connect but inspire millions of kids across the nation that made them great and unforgettable hosts and they will truly be missed.

Terrence J from 'Think Like A Man' with GF Selita Ebanks; Fresh and Preppy, Touch Of Swag!

Terrence J from '106 & Park' and new movie 'Think Like A Man' was at a basketball game with supermodel GF Selita Ebanks! what a come-up!

By the way, they both look great together and I'm feeling Terrence's jacket with epaulets, simple chambara jewelry, and preppy glasses. Selita? She's a supermodel. DUHH.

I saw Terrence J in person at this lounge in Novi, MI the other day. He was promoting 'Think Like A Man'.

FONZWORTH BENTLEY And Isaac Carree Style At BET 'Celebration of Gospel'

Just something about dressing up to do some CHURCH can really bring out the best as far as style. As a church guy, I'm fond of suits, even though I don't wear them much, and I'm even more fond of a suit when it's played up a particular way. The perfect example is above, with gospel music artist Isaac Carree (left) and Fonzworth Bentley (right).

Isaac has his look done up right with an off-white vest/pants combo, blazer, and the checkered tie inserted cleverly into his vest to produce the 'short tie' effect. Shoes are killer, too.

Now Fonzworth: I've always been a great fan of wild and electric style; Fonzworth embodies that with his multi-colored outfit (especially RED pants, even though I'll dare not wear them) and signature velvet slippers. BOSS!

Aretha Franklin Turns 70; Celebrates In Respectable Clothing Than Previous Years

So ARETHA FRANKLIN turned 70 this past weekend, and she celebrated it with great friends (in NYC) like BET's Debra Lee, Diane Sawyer, and Clive Davis.

Aretha looked very pretty for 70, and did indeed wear respectable clothing like this perfect look she wore for her 70th B-DAY, a far cry from spaghetti-strap gowns which strained to hold up her enormous breasts (just sayin'...) Take a look at Aretha's sequined dress and silver fox coat:

LaLa Vasquez-Anthony Has An MALE Assistant Who Carries Her Purse!

Wow, LaLa Vasquez-Anthony is really coming into her own. The other day, her reality show 'LaLa's Full Court Life' launched its 3rd season, and she also made an appearance on BET's 'Let's Stay Together.' LaLa was also spotted leaving a restaurant meeting wearing this toned-down but eclectic look that included a side cut-out leopard print blouse, navy pants, and blood orange Louboutins.

That's not all; LaLa had a Hermes bag, it wasn't seen on her but on her male assistant. Hmm... got that BOSS power, huh?

TRACEE ELLIS ROSS of 'Girlfriends' and 'Reed Between The Lines' Does A Moving Photo Shoot! U Must See...

I LOVE THIS!!!

So interesting to see a moving photo shoot (multiple pics together to make moving images). By the way, Tracee Ellis Ross is firing up the BET network with her re-runs of 'Girlfriends' and her new show 'Reed Between the Lines'. Now she's doing more in this photo shoot for Uptown Magazine.

Tracee is seen wearing these nice and short coveralls with Isabel Marant sneakers (has a concealed pump inside). She also sports this natural but gorgeously-styled, thick red hair; it's messy, funny, just a ball of fun!

Boy, do I love this moving photo shoot :-)

Beauties of the Weekend: SOLANGE KNOWLES and WENDY RAQUEL ROBINSON from BET's 'The Game'

Just a few pictures I want to show you for this weekend. I'm watching Whitney Houston's Celebration service televised live on BET, and I didn't want to leave y'all hanging, so here's a few pics.

I have Solange Knowles from her recent photo shoot, I love the denim and the tiny scarf she has on her neck. Perfection.

And here's Wendy Raquel Robinson from BET's 'The Game,' aka 'Tasha Mack' or 'Pow, Pow, Pow!'. She's a stunning and sometimes vicious actress who embodies beauty for her person her age. Go COUGARS! ROWR!!! LoL

B.E.T.'s Toya Carter-Wright In STELLA McCARTNEY Polka-Dot Dress for 2012 Photo Shoot

Toya Carter-Wright, best-known as reality star from B.E.T.'s 'TOYA' or Lil' Wayne's ex-wife, has done a FIRE photoshoot with Taylor Ector Studios and the dress she was wearing (above) was by Stella McCartney's Winter 2011-12 collection. Platform stilettos are by Sergio Rossi.

There are about 3 different designs of Toya's dress; see below:

Dress is HOTT, and TOYA is HOTT; stand out the best way you can without resembling a HEAUX (which Toya isn't, just to make that clear).

Artist BRANDY Spotted Earlier At Wendy Williams Show In Red YSL Platform Heels

Check out artist BRANDY looking sexy, professional (yes, 'cuz she's wearing TWEED), and chic as she entered the WENDY WILLIAMS show backstage.

I took notice of her FIRE-RED YSL (Yves Saint Laurent) platform cap-toe heels, as well as her amazing performance on B.E.T.'s 'THE GAME' Season 5 premiere!

What do you think of the YSL heels as well as Brandy's 'THE GAME' performance?

BET's "The Game" Reportedly 'The Best Move The Network Ever Made'

After a mixed feeling about BET's 'The Game' premiere episode on January 11, 2011, people have warmed up to it, mainly because the episodes are getting BETTER! The popular black show opened to 7.7 MILLION VIEWERS and the week after drew 6 MILLION VIEWERS, retaining a good portion of followers. The ratings were -- guess what -- HEAD 2 HEAD with Jersey Shore!!

I was looking on YBF when I found these news. Industry analyst Marc Berman talked about the move that BET took to bring 'THE GAME' back. Personally, what BET did was score A MAJOR TOUCHDOWN with this move; it's like winning the Superbowl!

See Berman's quotes below:

"...one of the smartest moves I've ever seen a network do. The advantage [BET] had was that people were familiar with the show.  And BET has a niche audience and caters to the African-American community -- and that was the audience watching The CW sitcoms."

"When we started to think about the marketing campaign behind 'The Game,' it made sense to give the biggest scripted launch on our network the biggest overall platform on our network, which is the 'BET Awards.  We started with a teaser spot with the cast of 'The Game' during the 'BET Awards' and then began to leverage every major program to deliver the message about the return of 'The Game' -- from 'Black Girls Rock!' to the 'Soul Train Awards."
Berman [she] continued,
"In addition to that, we did the traditional off-channel tactics such as billboards, bus buys and radio spots. We also did a fantastic job of leveraging the show's fan base on social media sites."

She sure said it best...

Black Entertainment Television's "THE GAME" Review

The most anticipated black show of 2010, The Game, has returned back to TV in 2011 (after a 2-yr hiatus) with a glamorous BANG and lots of surprises, twists, WHAT THE... moments, and FUN, FUN, FUN. The moment the show came on, I saw the immediate difference in the atmosphere of the show when the scene starts with "TWO YEARS LATER."

Though I could get into all the details of the show, I don't want to spoil too much for those who haven't seen the show, but I will tell y'all how I thought the cast did. *WINK*

INTRODUCTIONS:

(For those of you who never watched the show, the names which appear are the cast's character names)
There goes different introductions of everyone who played in the previous seasons of the show. Derwin Davis stepping out of the Maybach was a nice touch. Melanie and Tasha were in their same kind of fire from pervious seasons; Tasha's attitude reminds me of NeNe Leakes from Housewives of Atlanta (love her, love her, love her!)

Then here comes Kelly Pitts with a new short hairdo and some "ho-ish" dresses doing her own reality show. WHAT THE ?? That was the only messy and odd part of the show. And how is it that she gets paid $75,000 an episode to play on "The Game?" We'll see how she plays out for the next couple episodes. She better be worth 75 G's. Jason, Jason, Jason Pitts, playing it as a cool, retired? football player with supposedly a bunch of endorsements. That's a massive amount of swag. He did good "stealing the show" at the end.

MALIK WRIGHT.... is a MAN-WHORE. That's the only intro I'm giving him LOL.

BIGGEST SURPRISES:

Meghan Good!! She was mad sexy being the trophy girl of the power broker who owns several businesses, only to be ALL OVER Malik on the side... in the public bathroom. CAN YOU SAY MESSY???? BUT THE NAUGHTY-GOOD KIND *Smirk*

Terrence J from 106 & Park kissin' and all up on THE TASHA MACK?!!!! That's a BIIIIG WHAT THE ???? moment. I was laughing and laughing because this was so unexpected and Terrence did a good job; he reminds me of me because we're both thin guys and we try our best in what we do.

The Biggest Surprise Yet??

The baby isn't Derwin's.... NOW IT IS!! What's goin' on??! Tune in to BET on Tuesdays 10p/9p Central to follow the stories. I know I will...

THE ONLY JAIDEN's Grade

While some parts of the show were a little odd somewhere along the middle of the hour-long premiere, the show caught my attention the entire time. It's like a BLACK SOAP OPERA/REALITY SHOW all rolled into one. I would keep watching it; I suggest this show to others as well. Why? It's fun, it's "real," it's entertainment, and because I, The Only Jaiden, SAID SO *LoL*.

Grade: B-

Keep up the good work guys!!!
